SCARS

Scarring is caused by a particular pattern of healing in previously injured skin. If the wound involves the most superficial layers of the skin, it may heal without scarring. If it is full thickness and involves the deep, the skin will heal with scarring. At Platinum Medical center, there are different types and degrees of scarring that can be treated with scar tissue removal, which includes Dark Scars and Light Scars, Raised Scars, Indented Scars.

REJUVENATION

Photo Rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment achieved with medical-grade Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology. Photo Rejuvenation encourages the body’s natural healing process to help in the removal of treated pigmentation and vessels, while also promoting the natural production of collagen, which leaves skin smoother and more evenly toned. The Intense Pulsed Light used to perform Photo Rejuvenation is attracted to dark melanin and haemoglobin causing coagulation and destruction of targeted lesions.

LARGE PORES

Large pore size is related to overactive sebaceous gland activity, so those with oily skin or acne tend to experience more visible pores. When these oily skin pores become clogged with sebum, the pore wall becomes stretched. Age and tired skin functions can also add to enlarged pores, as can sun exposure and skin that is out of balance due to incorrect product use, health issues, medication use or other reasons. At Platinum Medical center, we have a vast range of treatments, appropriate for this condition all of which are safe and effective.

ACNE SCARS

Acne scars are the most common residual problem associated with the condition. Although acne is treatable, it can often leave you with bumpy, uneven skin. At Platinum Medical center, we have a range of treatments customized to get rid of and remove acne scars. We use a combination of effective treatments to reduce any visible scars and smooth out uneven skin and pigmentation. Laser Skin Resurfacing can help to reduce scars and the appearance of dark pigmentation. It is suitable for all skin types, including dark skin.

DARK SPOTS

Uneven skin pigmentation, or hyperpigmentation, is a common skin condition in which dark spots and dark patches of skin appear on the face, hands and other parts of the body that are regularly exposed to the sun. Hyperpigmentation appears as darkened patches or spots that make the skin look uneven, and these spots are known to age spots or sunspots. Photorejuvenation treatment uses laser light to selectively destroy pigmentation within the skin which is responsible for age, liver, brown and sunspots. It is suitable for use in all areas such as the face, neck, chest and hands.

WARTS & SKIN TAGS REMOVAL

Skin Tags are small, smooth, brown or flesh-coloured growths attached to your skin by a stalk. They often develop in the armpit, chest, neck or groin region. Skin tags are not contagious and it is thought that they develop from the area rubbing against clothing and other skin, meaning they will not spread from contact.

Warts can appear similar to skin tags. Viral cutaneous warts can occur anywhere on the skin, commonly on the face and neck. They can be small, soft and fleshy with ‘fingerlike’ projections from the skin.

At Platinum Medical center, depending on the nature of your skin tag or wart, we offer several different treatments for their removal:

Cryotherapy is a popular method of removal for growth, it’s simple. It works by essentially freezing off the tag, or wart through the delicate application of extreme cold to the area.

Curettage and cautery are often used for warts & tags, that have not responded to cryotherapy. The treatment involves a sharp, spoon-like instrument called a curette that is used to scrape off the growth before the wound is sealed (cauterised), normally through the use of heat.

Excision is often reserved for larger skin tags or warts that are not suitable for cryotherapy, though it can be used on those that are smaller and is commonly chosen when a doctor or dermatologist wants to send the sample for examination (biopsy).

BENIGN LESIONS REMOVAL

Benign lesions are often harmless variations of skin growths which can be effectively removed with minor surgery. Most skin lesions are benign; areas of the skin which has an abnormal growth or appearance in comparison to the surrounding skin. Several common benign lesions can occur including skin tags, moles, & warts.

Electrocautery treatment is used to remove many cosmetic skin imperfections, where the treatment uses small currents of electricity to cauterise the problem area on the skin.

Cryotherapy has been used to remove benign lesions for several years. It is a quick procedure that essentially freezes and destroys the skin lesion.

Curettage and Cautery treatment involves the benign lesion is scraped off from the skin using a rounded sharp device known as a curette. Heat is then applied to the wound to seal and cauterise the area.
